ACQUISITION CREATES FULL-SERVICE DOCUMENT DESTRUCTION BUSINESS

Independently owned Abraham’s acquires KARD Shredding Muskego, WI – Aug. 21, 2024 – Secure Information Destruction LLC, the parent company of Abraham’s On-Site Shredding Service, has acquired KARD Shredding. The acquisition combines the services of two independent, family-run information destruction companies with 74 years of service to business, government, and residential customers in southeast Wisconsin and northeast Illinois.

“Our mission is to be the document destruction partner of choice for small to mid-size businesses as well as for residential customers,” said Larry Bangs, President and Owner of Secure Information Destruction. “With the acquisition of KARD, we have added additional methods of secure shredding to fulfill that mission. We have a solution to fit every client’s preference, making us unique in our market.”

Abraham’s, which started in the Twin Lakes area and now serves clients in southeast Wisconsin and northeast Illinois, has been focused on mobile shredding. KARD, based in New Berlin, WI, has been focused on facility-based document destruction. The combined company will be NAID AAA Certified for mobile, plant-based, electronic (hard drives), and product destruction.

The acquisition was finalized on Aug. 16.

The companies have much in common: Both are independently owned and operated, were founded out of home garages, and have been run by husband-and-wife teams. Since its start in 1999 as a two-person, one-truck operation based in Twin Lakes, Abraham’s has seen accelerated growth under co-owners Larry and Christina Bangs. KARD, owned by Tom and Gina Kernen, started in a Waukesha County, WI, garage in 1975 before moving into a New Berlin facility.

Abraham’s and KARD will operate under their existing names for the time being, said Business Manager and Owner Christina Bangs. “Customers will continue to see the people they know and trust to protect their confidential information,” she said. “Both companies have vested interest in their clients’ goals, and we’re happy we can expand our service offerings to them.”
