In 2014, they received over 330,000 complaints from consumers who fell victim to identity theft. Now, they have a website dedicated to the crime.
The FTC has launched their website, IdentityTheft.gov, to make reporting and recovering from Identity Theft much easier.

Other features of the website include step-by-step instructions on how to report Identity Theft, how to deal with the credit bureaus, limiting financial losses and specific state and federal rights.
The site is a great step forward in highlighting the seriousness of the crime, as well as dealing with it in the digital environment. Take a few minutes becoming acquainted with the website as part of your secure identity strategy.
